Nairobi National Park
THE SAFARI CAPITAL
Nairobi is a city like no other. Every city offers a unique calling to its visitors. Paris has the Eiffel tower. London has Big Ben. New York the statue of liberty. However, few have the spellbinding presence of wildlife that Nairobi has on its doorstep. It is the only capital city with a national park within its borders. A chance to experience rare species like the Black and White Rhino. In addition to its wildlife, the cultural, social and political history of Nairobi and Kenya provides much to explore and learn about. Essential activities include feeding the giraffes at the iconic Giraffe Centre and appreciating the work of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust at their elephant and rhino orphanage. Nairobi travellers can also choose a variety of cultural tours, such as the Nairobi Museum, or visits to local tribes. Also popular are visits to learn more about the colonial history represented in famous literary and media work such as "Out of Africa" and "White Mischief". The house of Karen Blixen provides a peek behind the curtain of this period. With our local knowledge and expertise, the Nairobi National Park is a second home to the WOW Safaris team. The team provide magical insights and this increases the likelihood of spectacular wildlife sightings. All within an environment where nature and urban development clash at its frontier. The Park creates a visible manifestation of the term "Concrete Jungle". It symbolises the serious environmental challenges facing humanity and nature and the debate that needs to be had. WOW Safaris has a key role in raising awareness in this critical matter.
